Chinese Customs Stations in China maintain small
When the
guard armed with rifles and sub-machine guns.
Japanese invaded Kuangtung arms from the stations near the
frontier were transferred to the Customs launches (corrupt
group) in Hong Kong Harbour. Now that hostilities have
ceased temporarily near the frontier I propose subject to
your approval to (?group omitted) their return in order to
safeguard the collection of duties which is an
International obligation and to restore normal trade.
